During this business planning workshop, we’ll guide you through creating a clear and straightforward plan that you’re confident you can and will achieve. The primary purpose of a Group Alignment Day is to gain clarity and alignment between your business and personal goals.

A major focus of the business planning day is gathering together all the potential goals into a plan with timescales. At the end of the day, you’ll walk away with a clear schedule for the next 12-18 months. You will break down the plan into quarters and months so that you will know exactly what needs to be done. Consequently you will have the confidence to achieve it
As this planning involves defining your personal vision it can be very worthwhile involving your life partner at the same time.
Also, invite other business partners closely invested in your company, though please advise so that we can determine the best way to accommodate this online.
Most people don’t really plan their business at all. Those who do, often get bogged down in detail. Perhaps you’ve googled “Business Plan Template”, downloaded a few, sat there for hours going through it and feeling baffled. Maybe you even completed one of those plans, only to find that you never actually followed the plan or even looked at it. Sadly these experiences lead a lot of people to decide that Business Planning “doesn’t work” or “isn’t for me”. It’s an understandable conclusion, but really it’s more about the method that doesn’t work well.

There’s no preparation required for the day. You can just show-up and achieve everything necessary on the day. However, most people like to do some thinking and make a few notes to prepare. Therefore, we offer a few suggestions to ponder beforehand.

On the Day Activity
You might think a 5-year plan would be complicated and a lot of work. However, we keep this simple too. A single sheet of paper that breaks your business down into four main areas. Then it maps the progression from now to five years, showing each aspect growing from year to year. The template is a version of what’s known as a Vision Orbit diagram. If you’re curious, please Google it. However, we use a version better suited to planning.
12-18 month goals
The main takeaway from the day in terms of what you’ll use going forward is a simple ‘banner’ containing all your key goals, laid out on an 18-month schedule. Most people put this on their wall where it acts as a constant guide and reminder to keep them on-track. Moreover, people who work with a coach or an accountability partner share this form to keep track of what needs to be done.
Why 18 months instead of 12? If you plan just 12 months, there’s a risk that you end up looking short-term by the end of the year. The concept is to plan 18 months and re-plan every 12 months; As a result, you’re always ready for what’s on the horizon and looking ahead.
